World Book Day 2020

A fun day with lots of interesting costumes.

In our Autumn CCL week, Year 6 looked at the continents of North and South America. We used our mapping skills to locate the states of America and to look at the trade links the countries have.

We also made papier Mache masks to wear at our South American inspired Carnival. We showed off our Samba dance moves and celebrated aspects of the countries culture.

5G's Learning Environment

Our Learning Environment contract was created and signed by all in 5G.

September's value of the month was happiness, so we thought about what makes us happy at school and how we can be even happier! We also started our 5G tradition for celebrating birthdays - Mr. McCoy playing Happy Birthday on the cornet and the class singing along!

Viking Workshop!

In October, 5G had the opportunity to take part in a Viking Workshop. We were able to see lots of Viking artefacts, and we even made our own Viking coins! Here are some of our favourite photos:

Home, Sweet Home!

5G recently moved into our new classroom in the Visions Building! To help us settle in, we began to decorate our classroom for Christmas on the theme of 'Christmas Music'. We created some musical artwork and even played Jingle Bells on our clarinets; take a look below:

The London Eye Mystery

After the Christmas holiday, 5G began studying 'The London Eye Mystery', which is a fictional book based around a child seemingly going missing while on the London Eye. On January 29th, we had the opportunity to experience the London Eye for ourselves! As well as going on the Eye, we also enjoyed a 4D cinema experience. A few pictures from our walk along the Thames and a video of our time on the London Eye are below.
