The National School Breakfast Programme
The National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP) is has been established to support 1,775 schools to improve existing, breakfast provision. The aim is to ensure that more disadvantaged pupils, across both primary and secondary schools, have access to a free and nutritious breakfast. Studies clearly show that pupils in primary school who eat a nutritious meal before school have improved progress in reading, writing, and maths. Breakfast provision before school is also linked to an improvement in pupil behaviour.
The delivery of this breakfast provision to schools will be evaluated and reported .The first phase of this work evaliuation was completed and can be found in the published Explore Report.
While we are not currently able to make provision for a breakfast club at school, Hounslow Heath Junior School is one of the schools taking part in this NSBP programme. If your child is a pupil at Hounslow Heath Junior School, is eligible for free school meals, have ever been in receipt of free school meals or you would like to find out more about eligibility and how this this programme could benefit your child, please contact the school using the contact details; emailing the school at email@example.com.
