Extended School Curriculum (School Clubs)

Clubs including Breakfast and Afterschool Provision

(Following the lifting of many Covid-19 restrictions, we have been able to resume school clubs. Please see the document below for clubs operating this term and availability of places.)

In addition to the National Primary Curriculum, timetabled lessons, trips, whole school activities and class-based curriculum, Hounslow Heath Junior School has provided a wide range of activities and learning opportunities throughout the year; the Extended School Curriculum. Children across the school have had the opportunity to benefit from extra provisions, including : sports, crafts, science, public speaking, drama and clubs to support learning at home. In addition, there has been an after school care provision, the details of which are available on this website: Key Information - After School Care, however this provisiopn the other clubs have been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately the Covid-19 pandemic has prevented these clubs operating as they did before, as the school is organised into year group bubbles with distancing and the separation of classes maintained as much as possible. While clubs are permitted by the DfE, the necessity to separate groups and bubbles means the operation of these clubs is not currently possible.

The school will seek to re-establish and develop the Extended School Curriculum as soon as possible, in light of identified needs and opportunities. The views of pupils, parents and carers are fully considered; supported by surveys and the work of the Junior School Leadership Team (JLT), a school council consisting of two pupils from each class.

If you have any queries, please contact your child's class teacher initially after school, or contact the school office to meet school leaders and Miss Khanam, our Extended Schools Coordinator.
