As you will have heard, the Secretary of State for Education announced on Wednesday 18th March that all Schools in England should close from Monday 23rd March 2020 until further notice. The Prime Minister announced further measures and restrictions on Monday 23rd March. To prepare for the closure, we had already sent out home learning packs for all pupils. You can also access resources for your children in the Curriculum Page of this website.
We have been informed that Year 6 SATs will not take place this year, however, it is important that pupils in Year 6 work through their home learning packs in preparedness for their return to HHJS and Secondary School.
When the school was closed, we were fully prepared to support the Government’s request to stay open, as long as possible, for our key worker families and parents of children with EHCPs. The full letter distributed to parents and carers on Thursday 19th March is available below. Please do not assume that childcare is available unless you are contacted by the school. The school can be contacted by email at email@example.com in the normal way.
I am sure that you can appreciate the challenges we have faced remaining open, with illness and self-isolation impacting on attendance and staffing levels. I am very grateful to the school community for their support, as well as the integrity and commitment demonstrated by staff during this unprecedented time.
We will keep our parents updated on re-opening and other key messages via Parentmail and the school website.
We wish all our families all the very best and hope everyone remains healthy.
